hello!1
I see you are looking at ssds have any questions for me?
yes, what is a good choice for a ssd to use it as temporary storage for video editing with ae
Adrian P.
Well for video editing i say look into the intel pro 2500
lest say 480 os 512 gb
ok
Adrian P.
or the 535
sorry 530
I have this mobo, and I am looking to upgrade ram to a 32gb ASUS P8Z77 WS LGA 1155
Adrian P.
oh nice!
take a look at the ssd i put on the ideas tab
I recomend that one
the specs says a dual channel ram, It means that I need to use two sets of 2x8gb
Adrian P.
okay
let me look it up
yes you are right
2 sets of 8
yeah sorry
did you see the ssd i suggested
yes, I am going to try the same ssd on 240gb capacity,
I see a samsung 850 evo 500gb for $147, is it a good choice?
Adrian P.
yeah those are great!
very good rate on dollar per gb
Adrian P.
yeah
ok, but somehow intel are way beter, I mean they justify the price
I have my system os installed on a 240 intel ssd, if I want to move the system to a bigger ssd, could be a hasle, or piece of cake?
Adrian P.
piece of cake
what you can do is buy a transfer kit
ok like which one?
Adrian P.
let me find you one
this one
then
for your old ssd you can get this
so it makes it a external device
ok, this is a pc, mean big case, I can use the old one as internal, but this method is safe? I am a photographer and I could not risk to lose my system because I have very expensive software installed that I am not so certain I will be able to install it again on case of failure
Adrian P.
Yes its safe, what it does is it copys the whole system
into the new hd
without deleting the old one
cool, ok I alraedy put it in my shopping kart, just need to make a budget decision on which ssd, thanks for your help
Adrian P.
see
heres a tip
what you can do is
when you run the copy software to the new hd
you take out the old one and test the new one see if everything is there
if it is then you are safe to keep the new one in there if not you still have the older one ready with hte files
ok, that makes perfect sense, thanks
Adrian P.
no problem!
feel free to close this chat when you are ready to end it. if not Im still around. :-)
ok
