Hi! how can I help you today?
good evening, I currently have a asus atx motherboard with the H87 chipset. I have 2 vengeance memory cards in the slots. looking to upgrade to 32 gb which is max. any help would be appreciated.
Okay what kind of memory would you think you would need? I suggest to never mix and match memory.
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9I is what I currently have. due to the space requirements, I would like 2 18 gig if possible.
okaylet me confirm one thing really quick
so i can serve you better
is that your mother board?
look at the tab that appeard on the right
ASUS H87M-PRO LGA 1150 Intel H87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 uATX Intel Motherboard
so you wanna go to 16 gigs huh
if possible, don't want to have to redo my motherboard
okay so the motherboard uses DDR3 1600/1333 ram correct?
yes 240 pin
Well You are in luck You can indeed get yourself 2 x 8gb memory adding 16 to it.
and the space on the slots won't be overcrowded from the vengeance?
sorry I am new to this
haha no problem!
Well I don't see why it would be a problem.
Unless your casing is small but.
really I don't see why it would be crowded.
casing shouldnt be a problem, everything I have in there now has space. I was just worried about the slots being an issue with heat from all the memory so close together.
sorry, once again I am new to this
I mean what you can do is get yourself two 8 gb to add to the current build and a fan you can put next to it
to keep it cold.
if you are worried about it heating up
any fan suggestions?
pick up two 8 gb memory vengance since they are beast. and one of these.
I will order these now. thank you again for all your help.
have a great evening
