Hi my name is Jason. I'm a scuba shop manager and a fellow diver - I will be happy to help you with any gear questions/purchases you may hav
Hi
Hi Danielle, how are you today?
not bad.
Great, what can I do for you?
wondering about Dive Computers
great.. I can help you with that.
Is there a disadvantage to buying a used one?
well...
typically if it is used, they are still in like-new condition.
and we still offer our return policy.
We give 60 days for customers to return the merchandise for a full refund and another 60 days (120 days in total) to return for store credit, excluding any shipping charges, No RMA number is required, we provide customer a link to download a Return Merchandise Form which they fill out and include in the return along with a copy of the original invoice.

So.. other than it not being brand new.... I wouldn't say much of a disadvantage.
I have had my computer for 9 yrs
Okay
Which computer are you looking at?
the Oceanic "Veo 180" Air/Nitrox Wrist Dive Computer
ok great...
let me pull that one up for you.
Or the Aeris Manta Scuba and Free Diving Wrist Computer - used
ok
Which one do you think is better?
One minute please.
Oceanic "Veo 180" Air/Nitrox Wrist Dive Computer
Are these the two you are looking at?
yes
ok..
Let me take a look for you real quick... can you give me a minute please?
Aeris Manta Scuba and Free Diving Wrist Computer
sure
Thanks
Both have user - replaceable batteries, and are similar in function, except one vital thing.
The Aeris has backlighting
The Oceanic does not?
No...
Oh
ok
thanks
Your welcome.
The description of the Oceanic says "The Veo 180 offers backlighting but lets you determine the length of time it stays on, from 0 to 7 seconds. It also lets you choose as many as four main and one alternate dive mode displays."
hmm.. where did i miss that...
ahhh.. .yes...
I see that now.. sorry about that.
no problem
Just looking for the important stuff :-)
haha
so, the oceanic is fine to get?
I am not seeing temperature though... is that important?
I think it holds more dives than the Areis
The oceanic has a bigger dive log.
yes
up to 150 dives.
I dive in warm water anyhow, so I don't think the temperature is that big of a deal right now
Yes, I think either computer will be a great buy at under $300..
okay
The oceanic has a nice large digit display
thanks much Jason
Your welcome....
It also has some good reviews
