Hi, I'm Miyuki and I'm here to answer your gear related questions.
How are you doing today?
May I have your name please?
Hello, Miyuki asked me to help you out. What can I answer for you tonight?
Aeris AT 400 Sport DVT Regulator vs Tusa RS-510 Regulator...any advice?
Nice, that's the sale of the day if I remember correctly....
I'm looking it up right now for you.
Normally I'd put it in the chat window, but it's so new it's not in our chat catalog yet.
What kind of diving are you doing primarily?
warm water, caribbean
sweet. Well, I think this one would do well for you in those conditions, they're actually pretty on regulators.
Are you well versed in Regulator features?
nope
ok, no problem.
So, this design is balanced, meaning it's going to "breathe" the same at the surface as it does at depth.
The other outstanding feature is that it's environmentally sealed, meaning it's going to keep the outside water out. That will help in bad/cold water.
how about piston (Tusa RS-510) v diaphram
Diaphragm tends to be a little less maintenance, while piston is a lot easier to work on. It's gotten to the point where they're REALLY close technology wise.
I started diving 25 years ago, and it was quite a difference...now, not so much.
thanks
are you looking to purchase tonight or just doing your research?
both...looks like a good deal.
You know, this also has a dive/pre dive venturi....that's a feature ususally reserved for much more expensive regulators.
honestly, it's an outstanding deal!
that IS the deal of the day, so the price is only good for about 14 hours more.
Understood, we are in the market for regulators, so the timing is good.
:-)
Would you like to compare to some other options?
I can put a few up in the chat window if you'd like.
can you recommend an octopus
of course!
Are you familiar with combination octopus inflators?
a little
Can you see the one I put in the chat window?
(It's just there for conversation purposes)
yes
So I'm a big fan of those, they cut clutter quite a bit and eliminate a hose. Of course, they are a bit more expensive.
Do you have a preference between those and a standard octopus?
Scubapro Air 2, Combination Octopus/Inflator Regulator, Black/Gray
prefer a standard octo
sure, no problem!
Ok, the first I put in was the low-end option from Aeris. It's a great value price.
Aeris A1 Octopus Regulator, Yellow
Oh, by the way, the prices in the chat aren't always the same online. For example, this one is only $69.95.
nice
The A2 is the better quality one, a closer match to the regulator you were looking at.
The last one I put in is a low-profile Mares. It's out of stock right now, but on GREAT sale at $69.95
any concern about mixing brands...it should not matter?
no, it really doesn't matter at all.
sometimes, I'll actually dive with two standard regulators. It just depends on the rig.
Thanks mate...I'm signing out
